This brief work examines the teaching of the Catholic Christian Faith on pornography and related sexual sins, in the light of the basic principles of Roman Catholic moral teaching.

The author, Ronald L. Conte Jr., is the translator of the Catholic Public Domain Version of the Bible, a conservative Catholic translation of the Latin Vulgate. He is also the author of the books: ‘Roman Catholic Marital Sexual Ethics’ and ‘Roman Catholic Teaching on Abortion and Contraception’. His other writings cover diverse subjects in theology, including Mariology, Biblical chronology, eschatology, and other topics. The content of this brief booklet is based on material in the author’s lengthy work: ‘The Catechism of Catholic Ethics’.

The booklet distinguishes between immodesty and pornography, and suggests a narrow, rather than a broad definition of the latter. However, a work that has value as art or as entertainment may still be immoral; neither art, nor entertainment is above the eternal moral law. The sexual sins associated with pornography are many and grave. The harm done to society and individuals by this scourge is incalculable.

There are no sexual images in this book and no examples of pornographic text. The booklet is a discussion of ethical principles and the sins that violate those principles. It is a dull discussion of moral theology, not a work of entertainment.
