Bible Readings: Revelation 17 and 18

Today, read Revelation chapters 17 and 18.

[Revelation 17]
{17:1} And one of the seven Angels, those who hold the seven bowls, approached and spoke with me, saying: “Come, I will show you the condemnation of the great harlot, who sits upon many waters.
{17:2} With her, the kings of the earth have fornicated. And those who inhabit the earth have been inebriated by the wine of her prostitution.”
{17:3} And he carried me away in spirit to the desert. And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet beast, filled with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

The harlot is the false prophetess, who is the head of the false church of the Antichrist. The harlot is also that false church, the formal religion of the Antichrist.

The beast (i.e. the kingdom) has seven heads, because the Antichrist, as one of the ten kings, defeats three other kings in order to take control of the kingdom of the ten kings. It has ten horns, representing the ten parts of the kingdom and its ten positions of leadership (3 of which are vacant).

[Revelation 18]
{18:9} And the kings of the earth, who have fornicated with her and lived in luxury, shall weep and mourn for themselves over her, when they see the smoke of her conflagration,
{18:10} standing far away, out of fear of her torments, saying: ‘Woe! Woe! to Babylon, that great city, that strong city. For in one hour, your judgment has arrived.’
{18:11} And the businessmen of the earth shall weep and mourn over her, because no one will buy their merchandise anymore:

The kingdom of the Antichrist encompasses nearly the whole world. And he incorporates his false religion into every aspect of daily life, and especially commerce. So the businessmen of the world are thoroughly complicit in all his grave sins. And recall from chapter 13 that the false prophetess would not allow anyone to buy or sell without the name, number, or character of the Antichrist on the forehead or hand. So when the Antichrist has his downfall, the merchants mourn and weep.

Since the entire kingdom of the Antichrist is based on the worship of that one man, thoroughly integrated into every aspect of daily life, when he falls from power, the kingdom immediately falls apart. And that is why (Rev 17:16) the ten new wicked kings (who attempt to rise up and reform the kingdom of the ten kings after the fall of the Antichrist) hate the woman (i.e. the false prophetess and the false religion of the Antichrist which she lead). These new kings are angry that the Antichrist set the stage for the downfall of the kingdom of the ten kings by making every aspect of government and commerce and daily life depend upon his worship. So when they attempt to reform the kingdom of the ten kings, they do not make use of the false religion of the Antichrist; they destroy its places of false worship with fire (Rev 17:16). But these new kings are exceedingly wicked, openly worshiping devils, rather than worshipping the Antichrist.

  1. Bob Lewis says:

Is it your opinion that IF the first secret of Medjugorje was coming on this Friday that Fr. Petar Ljubicic would have announced it publicly by now? I have been waiting patiently all day long, but at this point I am thinking we may be wrong again on the date.

    • Ron Conte says:

The 3 days could be Wed, Thurs, Friday, like the 3 days from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection. And perhaps the first secret is not the same as the Warning, in which case there would be no announcement. So we really have to wait until Friday, to be sure.

  2. Max says:

Yes, the announcement could happen Wednesday. However, better impact for The Warning would be no annoucement before it happens. If nothing happens Friday, I still believe that Ron is right, just hard to predict. I give him credit for Trying in an honest, heartfelt way.

  3. stesvis says:

I think it’s safe to assume that IF the warning happens on the 25 it’s for sure not the 1st secret od Medjugorje.
3 days before is 3 days before. Our Lady doesn’t lie
